America's Cities in the Crosshairs
Thursday, 05 February 2009 21:25

NOTE: We referenced this news story in our first "Back to Enoch Update" (published in December of last year), but since we have had so many new sign-ups in the last two months, we decided to post it again here on our news page.

According to a bipartisan congressionally mandated task force, the odds are now better than even that terrorists will soon strike a major city with weapons of mass destruction. In the face of these threats, the incoming White House administration was urged to take "decisive action" to thwart a catastrophic attack. While biological weapons would be more accessible than nuclear material, the report stated that "the nuclear threat is growing rapidly, in part because of the increasing global supply of nuclear material and technology." The task force warned that "without greater urgency and decisive action by the world community, it is more likely than not that a weapon of mass destruction will be used in a terrorist attack somewhere in the world by the end of 2013."

The task force was created at the recommendation of the 9/11 commission, and has conducted more than 260 intervews with experts worldwide in an attempt to asses these threats. The story first appeared in the Washington Post on December 2, 2008.
